This essay covers the Social Work career of the University of Chile, specifically the lack of practices for professional training.
To contextualize, the aforementioned career at the University of Chile was reopened in 2015, since it had been closed in the year of the dictatorship. In the mesh of the race (after the reopening) the practice is not indicated, since they were replaced by the so-called “Nucleus” which supposes a mixture between theory and practice. The "nuclei" are annual branches and start from the third year of university
The "nuclei" fail to meet these needs and are becoming increasingly theoretical, therefore, this has consequences for the professional training of future social workers, since the student is not trained in practice and this It is necessary to mention that the "nuclei" have been created since 2015, therefore, they are new and which have been modified over the years.
To finish, it is necessary to rethink the way that knowledge is delivered in the aforementioned University, since it is important to achieve a balance between theory and practice, for this reason, the so-called “nuclei” need to be modified in the way that are carried out in order to achieve better professional training.
